The Opposition

We were a punk band formed in 2001 by Nick Bane and Jeff Buckner. The band was formed to have fun, make some political statements, and hopefully influence some positive changes. The way we hoped to influence that change was by making our band essentially labor of love and not profit. Ever dollar made from our concerts was donated to charity. The list of charities we donated to included: The Brian Deneke Foundation, San Diego Clean Needle Exchange, Leukemia and Lymphoma research, and Alpha Project. Our Merch was sold at essentially cost and the revenue from our CDs was donated to Pirate Radio 96.9 FM, a now defunct pirate radio station that covered the south part of San Diego in the early to mid 2000's. This wasn't the best way to run a business, but it made us feel good to spread awareness about charities working to improve society.
